CATANA D
Scope and a pedigree of World Cup jumpers
2017 | 16.2 hh | Chestnut Mare | Australian WB
In the pursuit of adding some more genetics to our mare team, and another competition partner, we approached Davidson Equestrian. We were lucky to acquire Catana D as a rising 4yo who was broken in but not started. It only took trotting a 20 m circle to work out we would love to take her home, with her naturally forward thinking attitude and rideability.
Catana is a competitive young horse, with multiple placings and wins. She currently competes at 1* eventing and 1.20 m showjumping. She is a scopey jumper and a straight forward ride. She has the perfect amount of ‘red head’ to bring out her competitive edge. We look forward to her developing competition career and seeing just how far she will go.
Catana is part of our embryo transfer programme.
Her breeding…
Catana D is out of World Cup Showjumping mare Checkamour D (Check In/ Champion For Pleasure), who was 3rd at the Australian Championships in 2022. Her sire is Fairbanks Catargo (Indoctro/Grannus II), who was the first home bred representative at the 2005 World Showjumping Championships for Young Horses in Belgium. Catargo successfully competed at World Cup level, and has had multiple progeny with success at the elite levels of Showjumping and Eventing disciplines with a variety of riders.

“Catana D combines the best parts of her sire Fairbanks Catargo (Indoctro/Grannus II) and dam Checkamour D (Check In/Champion FP) both successful competitors at World Cup level showjumping.
Catana has great scope, braveness, and versatility competiting in both showjumping and eventing. We look forward to watching her career progress, and we wouldnt mind another one of these in the paddock!”
